Decision against Illuminate Festival

This week Tim Mills informed us that the Illuminate team requested some additional information about our concepts to be taken into consideration for the Illuminate festival 2019. Following our initial concept submission, Tim uploaded a questionnaire that had to be filled out if we wanted to present our work at the festival.

I took that decision carefully. On one hand it seemed like an amazing opportunity to present my creative work in a unique and national festival, on the other hand it means a huge amount of extra work. There were a couple of personal and academic reasons that led me to not participating in the Illuminate festival. I felt like I could produce better work if I had more than 3 weeks to create it.

I am content with my decision: Now I can focus my energy on my animation and make it as good as possible. I am aware I still must work hard and show my finished project in January and therefore have to contextualize the outcome as if I was taking part in the Illuminate festival.
